The various roles of the social media fellowship have included Manager, Chief Content Officer, Community Manager, Analyst, Editor, Brand Journalist, and Research Manager. Each role is responsible for producing social media content. Below is a description of what responsibilities are unique to each role for the 2018-19 fellowship:
Manager
-Forming and communicating responsibilities to team members
-Working closely with analysts to set and modify goals and set specific strategy
-Scheduling and managing meetings, and setting agendas
-Monitoring online competitors' presence and perception
-Conducts ongoing peer reviews
-Managing processes, recruitment, and training of social media fellows for the year
-Communicating PCSB status, results, and learning to advisors, social media members, and Providence College marketing and communication department
-Responsible for internal and external presentations
Community Manager
-Preparing hashtag strategies and individual @reply strategies
-Interacting with stakeholders in real time on various web platforms
-Participating in online conversations
-Lead on creating stories on Instagram
-Monitoring online conversation for stories and trends that have reached a tipping point and are relevant to the brand's audience
-Working on campus activation to engage the community
-Creating marketing personas
Analyst
-Measuring goals
-Translating anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media campaigns
-Reporting on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results
Editor
-Chief editor of content submitted by contributors
-Conducting keyword research
-Actively logging and organizing a queue of ready-to-go blog posts
-Outreach to PC audience to form stories, including conducting interviews
-Ensuring that social media activities align with the brand story, voice and goals
Brand Journalist
-Taking and editing photos
-Creating digital graphics and videos
-Archiving graphic materials in the School's online database
-Lead on updating graphic content and placeholder updates on all platforms
